Hi y'all,

I'm trying to write something that can update (amounst other things) via a network using a command type entry.

I'm getting Authorization failure: -155 errors though when I run the command.

All I'm doing is sending \machinenameandpathboinccmd.exe --project http://rosetta.bakerlab.org/rosetta update

I thought perhaps it was because boinccmd.exe was not in the folder that runs this command, so I copied it into the folder, tried it again, but it updated the boinc locally rather than the remote one.

This is driving me nuts, any ideas anyone?

TIA
Is there a way to do this does anyone know?

I found this here

Make sure the 'boinc_cmd' client is in your 'BOINC Data' directory when you run it...
If not... You'll probably get the following error...

Authorization failure: -155

(The file gui_rpc_auth.cfg contains a password that protects the BOINC client from control by other users on the same host. BOINC automatically generates a password if none is found.)

Hugo is correct, you will have to enter a password into this file before the remote system can establish a connection. Pick something robust to protect yourself from intrusions.

Okay, thanks for the replies guys :)

It's not exactly what I was planning on doing, but it looks like there is no other way other than using WMI which can actually run the command on the node in question - Little too complicated for my liking though :D

So what do I need to do to get it working, just add a password or has one been created for me already. Also, do I need to restart Boinc with a perameter to start the remote_gui thing?

TIA
