Hi

I've looked around for help with this, but being a bit of a newbie, I can't seem to fathom it.

I am running rosetta@home via the boinc manager, using account manager attached to grcpool.com

At present, rosetta@home is using all of my available CPU cores, which is sometimes preventing GPUGRID from working properly on my GPU.

Please can someone explain to me how to configure the "global_prefs_override.xml" file correctly, to reduce the number of cores used by rosetta from 8 down to 6?

thanks in advance....

Jeremy

In the Boinc Manager, under the Options menu, select Computing Preferences.
On the computing tab, change "Use at most 100 % of the CPUs" to 75%
I think that does it.

Using global_prefs_override.xml edit the file to read

<global_preferences>
<max_cpus>6</max_cpus>
</global_preferences>

See advice of where that file is located and how to use it here
