Check out the Rosetta Home Page. On June 29th, Kris Fulgham of Team Canada was noted for predicting the lowest energy structure for workunit! Okay so it might be a little delayed... but your welcome!... ! Yay some complete stranger (but Canadian) used my name without knowing me... I feel oddly violated, yet full of accomplishment1 -Kris |

Under 1 month before we reach the #5 spot overall! However we have the Czech National Team listed to catch us in about 220 days! (69K RAC vs our 56K RAC) |

OK OK..... Great work, for all those still contributing! Still greater work, to all those who've contributed! Does anyone know if Team Canada has its own team website? I used to think I was schizophrenic.....then I found the off switch on my alarm clock |

Hello Tarx and fellow Canucks!! I just joined up with Seti recently and finally connected with Rosetta. I think you might find my thread at Seti interesting. LMAO Hi Pawly! As you've no doubt read in this thread, although the team here at Rosetta is doing quite well, it is somewhat limited by not having it's own site. And I don't think we have had any contact with the captain of our team on Rosetta, so it seems that we are in a similar state as the team at SETI. In any case if someone is putting together a website for the Team Canada (and for someone willing to be an active leader) for some (all?) BOINC projects (heck, maybe even adding folding@home), that would be great! |

Hello Tarx and fellow Canucks!! I just joined up with Seti recently and finally connected with Rosetta. I think you might find my thread at Seti interesting. LMAO Hey there Tarx, Funny how likeminded a couple of Canadians can be, EH! I was thinking something like that, IF we can get someone who is dedicated and willing to start up a site, then MAYBE we could even merge the teams together like for example BoincSynergy or the like. The problem, or one of them at least, is being able to agree on how to proceed. Some, like myself, aren't to concernded with point rankings, but would like to have a community forum and team resources (FAQ's for newbies (like me!), events calendar, links to other existing or new projects, even organized meetings or outings!). I'm glad I found this thread, cuz it gives me hope that this can be accomplished. We are going to have to be patient and proceed as best we can. Maybe other team leaders could be contacted and advised of the situation? They might be in a position to help. I'm going to keep trolling the forums of the varios projects and urge you to do the same (if this is idea still important to you). But first Team Canada@Seti and Team Canada@Rosetta have to get active Captains. YEll and scream for moderator and tech support help at this project like I am at Seti. We do seem to be making progress there. Tony Critchley is the next guy in line for team captain transfer (if you read the thread you already know the troubles we're having with the transfer) but I think we could do the same here. Anyway, that's long winded enough for one post (lol), I hope we can get this done. Keep the Faith, Pawly Edit: Almost forgot, I have posted a link to this thread and the one at Seti in the Team Canada thread at World Community Grid. No response yet. |

.... then MAYBE we could even merge the teams together Hey there AlMar2, just a thought for the future, a larger team base would benefit everyone. Those who want to "own" the leader board will have more people on their team crunching and those who want to have that "warm fuzzy" community feeling will be pleased. Again just a thought, I'm trying to open the floor for discussion on all things Team Canada / BOINC / SETI / Rosetta etc. etc. By no means am I trying to control anything or anyone, I hope you didn't get this impression. Just a guy trying to bring people together, that's all. Pawly |

Just a guy trying to bring people together, that's all. I read through much of your thread on the SETI board. You've put much energy into trying to get something going for that group. I've looked at the BoincSynergy site. Someone is putting tremendous resources and energy in keeping that alive and going. Many years ago, on the old non-BOINC program, I crunched many thousands of WUs for SETI@home. I involved myself on two 'team' websites. One was a lighthearted discussion group where pats on the back for WUs crunched, statistics reviewed and a members place in the number-crunching pecking order of the group/country/team/world was frowned upon (mostly tongue in cheek frowned upon, but non the less 98% adhered to). The other was a team very dedicated to producing ever higher number on the stat sheets. And we did quite well at it. But it ended up being quite technical. Involvement required more and more time in order to be at the level the team wanted each member to be at. In the end (before my networked suffered a crippling crash), I chose to go with the lighthearted team. The atmosphere was much more conducive to everything, and we actually surpassed many teams dedicated to 'all-things-crunched'. If your enthusiasm for lighting a fire under someones butt isn't working for the SETI team and you get a similar response for team Canada on the Rosetta project, perhaps getting an entirely new team going complete with its own website would be the way to go. That way a prospective new member would know from the start what kind of a team it is. One last thought... for that light hearted SETI group (Carolyns Clinic), it was never allowed that we raid other teams for members. I used to think I was schizophrenic.....then I found the off switch on my alarm clock |

Just a guy trying to bring people together, that's all. Things are slowly advancing, and I am a very patient man. I'm in total agreement about keeping it lighthearted. getting control of the existing teams means being able to send out a short and to the point email to members, letting them know intentions. As for "merging" teams, I think this is when a new team should be started and existing members can decide weather to join or stay put. Cheers, Pawly |

Team "Canada" Rosetta now has an active founder. That's a start. When we get a website going for the "Canada" teams we will be able to link out team page to it. I'll keep you posted. Bill |

I switched my team membership to BC BOINC recently, but I have a thought about this.....would this new website have links to all teams from Canada? It would be a great to have one central place to gather all things BOINC-Canada on. I'd be willing to spend some time on such a project I used to think I was schizophrenic.....then I found the off switch on my alarm clock |

Hi AlMar2, Not sure what they have in mind. Over at Seti I think Pawly and Tony are working on something. Check this thread for more info. I'm sure they would appreciate any help. Thanks, Bill |
