I can't for-sure say why or explain the rationale - it's not my place to do so - but I do NEED to say... I do understand your concern... I want my android devices to help Rosetta too. But regardless of the reasons - please run other projects/tasks! We're volunteers - and Rosetta sends work if it has it. So, please - turn to projects that do utilize Android, stay signed up with Rosetta on Android... and the second Rosetta sends out Android WUs, you'll be the first to know. In the meantime, please don't let your phones go to waste! Asteroids@Home, Universe@Home and World Community Grid are sending out Android WUs regularly - I have 2 Android devices crunching for these projects, and it's still contributing to valuable science.
