Recently I went and got BOINC installed on my Raspberry Pi 2Bs (all running Gentoo, kernel 4.19.81). Got the service/daemon started, opened boincmgr on my desktop and connected to the client, and then when I went and added the R@h project I got the message that armv7a-unknown-linux-gnueabihf was unsupported. I can't seem to find any documentation on what's what, so I'm curious: what are the exact ARM target platforms R@h supports?

As they said in the news item announcing the ARM version - aarch64 and Android.

You really need a Pi4 to be able to run this project due to the memory required. The work units determine how much memory is needed and the current crop of work needs approx 1GB each. Unfortunately the Pi2, Pi3 and even the Pi4 1GB version can't run these work units.

You could theoretically run aarch64 on a Pi2 if its a revision 1.2 but given the memory requirement its not worth it. The revision number is printed on the Pi.

I guess the old articles I'd been reading from a few years ago when the Pi4 and such weren't out yet are a bit outdated then, eh? Oh well. I guess I'll throw 'em at Mlucas or something and then finally get around to getting Gentoo on my Pi3s. I have enough space for swap so I can get enough to do the work units with some overhead, but it won't be the fastest thing in the world.

Can anybody confirm that they are completing tasks using "Linux on ARM"?

There is currently no data for it via WUProp@home (though the new "Rosetta for Portable Devices" has tons of "Android on ARM" users):

Yes. I have a couple of Pi4’s running Raspbian without any issue. You can see my computer details.

Set the BOINC cache low (I run 0.30 days), you’ll need about 2GB disk space and around 1.3GB of memory for each running task, although the highest I have seen used was 918MB. I use an app_config to limit how many run at once, in my case 3 at a time on a 4GB Pi4.

Could you please share what power consumption a fully loaded Raspberry Pi 4 has without anything plugged in other than power & SD card (i.e., no HDMI, network, USB)?

By the way, if you added 4GB zram, I think it could run 4 tasks at a time.

BOINC seems to be running from the main storage of my phone rather than my much larger micro SD. Is there a way to move it?

Abort all Tasks, detach from the Project. uninstall BOINC. Re-install it where you want it to go, re-attach to Rosetta.

In that case i'd check your phone to see what you have selected as the default storage (Windows/Linux installers give you the option of where to install, i can only guess that with the phone OS it goes to whatever the default storage location is).
