I am not impressed with the quality of BOINC web pages, so I started working on making the pages XHTML 1.0 strict compatible. I made a nice progress, and sent my changes to David Anderson, the main developer of BOINC system so that the changes would be checked into CVS and made public. But sadly, David responded: Thanks for the diff, I got no response to continued attempt to persuade him that XHTML was good. I even suggested using <p /> as a separator if he wanted - it would still be a valid code and work as intended. No response. Seeing that there is no other option to persuade David (and make use of my work), I ask you to sign a petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/bncxhtml/. Once we have enough signatures, I will send the link to David with hopes to succeed. Sign the petition PrimeGrid Administrator |

Have you forgotten who owns this site? I understand you're wanting to help, but you should have asked before you did the work, and now that you did ask and where told "No thank you" your only response should be "Well let me know if you need me in the future" NOT sign this petition. I think you have gone way too far with your "enthusiasm". Let it go. My comments are made with kindness only. surreal Come BOINC with me! USALUG !! |

Have you forgotten who owns this site? For the record, rytis helps pay/payed for boincstats servers, the boinc-wiki, primegrid and I guess was trying to make some sort of standard in the html coding which there is not at the moment. Which means is all quite a mess and causes problems in browsers. afaik, they're (boinc dev) now trying to get everything HTML4.0 standard, which it's not at the moment. They'll then look at going XHML1.0 or higher standard once they get HTML4.0 sorted since there isn't too much difference and there will be greater support for the XHTML standards (i.e. IE7 will have eventually been released). P.S. Some of the BOINC main developers seem very stuck in the mud about things and don't seem to open their eye's and take onbaord good suggestion. Though time is one thing and manpower another oh and money ;-). Team mauisun.org |
