Hi Forum

So i ran Boinc on my Computer, but i had a problem with the computer und a can't install Boinc anymore so i worked around and set up a VM und this Computer, now iwant to merge these two but i can't since the VM only has two cores and the Hostsytem that Boinc an on has 4 but i can't assigne all 4 Cores to the VM. Is there a Workaround since on other projects i could merge the VM and die real Computer.

Thanks to answers in advanced

P.S. sorry for bad Grammatik since English is my second language.

I don’t think that the number of core alone makes the computers incompatible, I rebuilt my FX-4 as an FX-8 and it quite happily merged those. Have you tried making sure that the vm has the same domain name as the original computer and the doing a merge by name?

On the other hand, what happens when you try to install Boinc on the original computer - would it be easier to try to resolve that problem?

From the BOINC Wiki

You may only merge two computer records if

They have the same processor type (Intel, AMD etc.) and operating system.
They don't overlap in time; i.e. computer 1's last RPC happened before computer 2's first RPC, or vice-versa.

No I can't because it says that an older Version is installed which it's not so i moved to an VM as an Backup.(It was on there but due to an Problem I removed it)
