http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ffmail_form.php shows, how it will look like.

I'm not sure if it already does something as that depends on a configured email and I haven't seen a link to it yet.

Do you want me to continue working on the system or not?

Johnathon, no telling how long it will take them to incorporate it into the BOINC server code, and from there, Rosetta would have to update their servers to have that level... their's doesn't seem to have the hidden word, and makes you paste each EMail address into a separate blank... so I like your approach better in several ways.

I'd say continue with yours. From what I saw last (was it May?), it was looking good. You said you had more work to do, but I was assuming it must have been some of the audit trail of it and SPAM detection you were doing behind the scenes, because I didn't see much to change on the user side of it.

The front ends pretty much done now, including the message. Its just some of the backend that needs tweaking. :)

Maybe you could add something that the BOINC guys seem to have forgotten :

An official part of the letter (a short project description) which is available in more than one language and a pulldown with the option to choose from the available target languages.

The target language is not necessarily the same language that the sender uses

Thats possible, but I am reluctant to add new features to this system. I need to get on with learning python, not php!
<edit> And its unlikly that the project would want to run a python version of this system... you'd effectivly need zope and plone, or the up and coming AJAX implementation of python. </edit>

(Sorry, but job comes first!)

If someone wanted to work on this, THEY WOULD BE FREE TO DO SO!!!

Just ask me for an email, and I'll send you the source code.

Perhaps there would be some way to put links in an English form letter which would go back to the website and use the languages supported by the server for the project web pages. I mean if we point to a given Rosetta page (some new page), I believe it will check the language of the browser and deliver the appropriate translation of that page. We'd have to make a page with the info. in English first.

The current draft of this tell-a-friend function is a two-part thing anyway. The EMail itself is just a few paragraphs, and then we reference a single link for more information.
