Hi! As Sid Celery explained between the lines there are more than enough CPUs available ( https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=6893&postid=100149#100149 ) so I am trying to delete my account. I have managed to remove Rosetta from my Boincx software and I have managed to uninstall Boinc from my PC. But I cannot fin where to delete my account here on the website. How do I do that? TIA, Jo |

Please consider that you came here to help with the science, not for Sid’s benefit. You don’t have to agree with him (or with me, or with anybody else) to be able to contribute. There is a community here – I don’t know what these forums are for otherwise. That inevitably means you get all sorts of people, voicing all sorts of opinions… It is true that because the project admins don’t participate, nothing we say here will get the server problem addressed any quicker. It’s safe to assume that it will be fixed once somebody has an opportunity to look into it – but that might not be until after the holiday. If you genuinely don’t want to stay: R@h doesn’t support deleting accounts, probably because of long-established assumptions in the BOINC server software about its ability to preserve everybody’s contributions over the lifetime of the project. The closest you can get is to change or remove any of the ‘other account info’ (display name, country, etc.) you have entered in your account and do not want to remain visible, delete your profile, change your e-mail address to something non-existent, and remove the project from your BOINC client. If you want your forum posts to be removed, try the ‘Report’ link on one of them, and ask the moderator to delete them all. See the thread How to "delete" your own BOINC user account. |

Now that was disappointing. I had hoped for a complete deletion. But OK, I will just log of and leave. Thanks for answering. |
