Thanks for the links - I often read your posts, but that one is terriblly biased! For example, it makes it that the WHO waited until Biden's inauguration to update their guidelines, but they updated their guidelines the day before too. And the links they cite for evidence are pretty weak.
But keep the links coming - they're usually really interesting.

Don't know about the US but in the UK every hospital admission - Pillar 1 - has involved two separate tests from the start, so it's about 9 months behind what's already done.
Only Pillar 2 tests, for the general public, involve 1 test, and they're either pre-emptive or because symptoms are already suspected.
Not much practical difference.

In the US everyone going into a hospital has their temp checked and they are asked a series of questions, those going to visit patients are separated into a second group for further testing and they are limited to one person at a time to visit a patient. Patients going into the hospital are checked for the virus thru a swab test, some do it a few days before for elective procedures and then again the day of arrival.
