I just tried merging a couple of mine, but after I clicked on the link to merge them, the list of computers ("check which computer is the same as [NAME]" or something like that) showed no computers.

>Your machines must be identical in order to merge....ie have the same specs. If the server finds no matches, no merges can take place....Cheers, Rog.

which results for example? I browsed your results and couldn't find non-credited ones.

I've noticed this as well. If the WUs are still shown in your work (or "tasks") tab of BOINC Manager, it means you have uploaded, but not yet "reported" them. Once that phase completes, you will see the details.

If the WUs ended with errors, there is a daily task that runs to grant credit. And when this occurs, you have to look in the WU details to see the credit issued, (at least prior to this server upgrade) as it is not shown in the list of WUs.

Do not know if it is a problem with the upgrade or me, but I am not getting any new work. Have reset the project as well. So guess I will wait 24 hrs and see.

John, do you run other projects? Is there a message in the messages tab about being overcommitted, and running earliest deadline first? If so, yes, just be patient. BOINC has decided to spend some time elsewhere and will return to Rosetta soon. If not, do you have any work on your PC? What is your General Preference for "connect to network every ... days"?

From new participant "bird-dog":
I want to add the same Avatar I use in other projects but every time I try, after clicking update in the Edit preferences I get the following.

Couldn't update forum preferences.
Unknown column 'minimum_wrap_postcount' in 'field list'

Looks like other projects are having the same problem. Due to the server upgrade?

After the "UPgrade"

One of my pcs, that crunched OK before that

continued crunching OK -:) Great !!!

Only there is this additional message on the "log" at each "Work Request"

2006-06-10 23:38:34 [rosetta@home] Message from server: Your computer has only 254119936 bytes of memory; workunit requires 245880064 more bytes

And then, the job cruches OK, and upload OK, without any erros !

So, the message is misleading

Thanks

Hi

I am not sure if this has anything to do with the update but my Tasks started erroring. My last sucessfull task was 10 Jun 2006 5:48:24 UTC. I have reset the project, but not downloaded any new tasks yet.

I have a number of computers with less than 512Megs of ram, and since the upgrade I have been getting a number of error messages on those computers like this:

6/10/2006 5:30:21 PM|rosetta@home|Message from server: Your computer has only 266780672 bytes of memory; workunit requires 233219328 more bytes

The work units download and complete without any problems, but the computers then stop communicating with the server. So the results are never sent in for credit and the computers stop requesting work.

I realize that the minimum requirement is 512megs, but these computers have been crunching without any problems for 6 months. Are you now forcing computers to have 512megs before allowing them to take part in the project?

Perhaps it's coincidence, but the Ralph site's no longer allowing result-reports or downloads, and has been reporting "project down for maintenance" since about the time of the server update. (& server status shows the feeder is down). Only posting here in case staff might see it sooner, since no one has responded or posted news on the RALPH boards. Meanwhile best of luck on any issues coming from the server update.

I've noticed that each time my computer contacts the project, a new host is created. As a result after one day, there are 7 new hosts - clones of the same pc, each with only one result on account.

Yep, this problem seems to be rearing its head again. All other projects that had this problem, but have now upgraded are still ok, it seems that rosetta is the odd one out.
