Other projects do this successfully. SIMAP, Seti@Home (there is also an un-official 64bit Seti@Home client), Einstein@Home I think does and a few of the smaller ones. To download rosetta@home programmes you just go here https://boinc.bakerlab.org/download/ as mentioned before. Team mauisun.org |

Is the source of rosetta open for us to compile our own clients? |

Is the source of rosetta open for us to compile our own clients? Negative. We're at the mercy of the rosetta team to decide to either supply a 64 bit client, or recognize that we can run the 32 bit client. The current policy is to not recognize [i.e., refuse] any contributions from 64 bit computers. |

Status update? I just finished installing Suse 10.2 64 bit, and searched for a 64 bit Boinc client. Tried to attach, and got the same tired message about: Sat 14 Apr 2007 08:28:19 PM CDT|rosetta@home|Message from server: platform 'x86_64-pc-linux-gnu' not found *sigh* |

There is a way to crunch rosetta on 64bit Linux. I wrote a little HowTo in the BOINC Synergy Forum. You can find it here: http://www.boincsynergy.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=69800#69800 |

I'm on 64 bit kubuntu, and using the anonymous platform.l it was detected just fine, and began crunching, but every single work unti fails. the first three have had client errors. I have 2 right now that, bizarrely enouhg, do not make progress while they run. CPU time does not increase, nor does % complete, but they have the state running. see https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=3031 any ideas? |

Have you had a look at the HowTo I wrote? ;-) HowTo If you read it carefully it should work for Kubuntu too! I run rosetta with Ubuntu 64bit and a Teammate with Suse 64bit, so it should work with Kubuntu too... |

Its not. I can attach the project, and it downloads work. And then, at some percentage, the CPU time (the counter of how much time the CPU has spent on the WU) stops counting, even if the WU is Running. Then After a long time, I get a Compute error. Rosetta is finding the applciation and running on it, but its failing to complete work units. And you're right, if it works for Ubuntu, it should be working for Kubuntu.... example of a result: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=75799040 FYI, you need to update that since they released their new application today |

Same here: Rosetta work units fail with client error. WUs of my 3 other projects finish without errors. (Ubuntu 7.04 64 Bit). |
