Can anyone recommend literature (on an extreme beginnerĀ“s level) that provides the basics of what the rosetta-work is about? I have high school-knowledge of biology and maths... |

Allegro, welcome to Rosetta! Sounds you've got the curiousity bug... that's the MAIN way to learn more, to be curious and follow links. The project homepage has links to several articles about the field. Some of them are highly technical, you open it and go "whoa! I thought this was the men's room!". So just go back and look at another one. There are other users around with Biotech Masters Degrees, so I suppose they had to give them something to chew on too. Just skip those :) There is basic info. in the BOINC Wiki, and the Wikipedia. But I'd suggest you read through the message boards, especially Dr. Baker's journal, and the project homepage. There's also the project information and help index. Above all, when you have read and informed yourself, and can't find an answer, then go ahead and post a question. Try to be as specific as you can about your point of confusion, and the background you've already reviewed, and it will get an answer. But running Rosetta@home just might! https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ |
