Just curious, I can't find any in the credits section. Not sure if they would show up as something other than a Xeon 3.0 GHz. Team Starfire World BOINC |

We have Xeons, but they're on Linux. Also, my unofficial benchmarks says 2003 server is slower than XP-pro. dag --Finding aliens is cool, but understanding the structure of proteins is useful. |

The Jonah report "T2600 @ 2.16GHz", I guess this alphanumeric coding will show for the Woodcrest CPUs too. Speedwise one T2600 easily beats a quad Xeon 3.06 GHz by factor 2 at SETI (throughput, not speed per task), actually I would need a few of those *sigh* |

I think I found one: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=270793 Not surprisingly, it's currently #1 in RAC at over 4300 per day (looks like this one has dual 5150 2.66Ghz Woodcrests). Fast as hell, Genuine Intel(R) CPU @ 2.66GHz Number of CPUs: 4 Cache: 4096 KB Team Starfire World BOINC |

I think I found one: That one is a Kentfield. |

That one is a Kentfield.hmm... Is Kentsfield available already, including prototype? Even so, I can't imagine how one get the new Intel processor. Or, is it test done by the Intel developing team to measure ability? lol In fact, it seems easy for them to produce Kentsfield, since Kentsfield just consists two dies of conroes. It seems the same way they did in the case of Presler, Pentium D 9xx. |

That one is a Kentfield. Whoa! How can you tell? I can't see where you figured that out. Even so, I can't imagine how one get the new Intel processor. Indeed |

That one is a Kentfield. I know it is a Kentfield because it belongs to one of the captains of my Team. BTW , we call that rig/cruncher Clark Kent. |

The hosts:https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/hosts_user.php?userid=49316. Aren't you surprised? You can find several Core2 Duo processors from the list! Isn't he an employee of Intel or a PC shop, or doesn't he have a friend who works for the company? https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=268452 Actually this computer with conroe was attached to the project first time at July 4. At least the owner of this computer is supposed to the person who got the newest processor by the day, so he seems a tester (or writer?) of it. |

The hosts:https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/hosts_user.php?userid=49316. Lets say there are several Conroes crunching for XtremeSystems, with the Vietnam Soldiers sub-team leading the way. . The owners of the rigs are your basic overclocker nuts , who will get engineering version of the chips and will pay premium money for them. But what differentiates them from your typical ocers is that they do not keep the Conroes and the Kentfield away from crunching. When Dr Baker made his call for more crunchers these people decided to bring their power chips into action at times where conditions were not optimal ( freaking ambient heat.) . BTW in the process some mobos were reduced to a degree of crispiness that would bring tears to your average person. |

Whoa! How can you tell? I can't see where you figured that out. I saw that, but it doesn't identify the CPU type. It just says "Genuine Intel(R) CPU @ 2.66GHz" so you can't tell which core it is, and I made an incorrect guess. Am I correct in assuming that brand new CPU's require an update to BOINC manager in order for the software to identify them correctly? Or is it Rosetta that ID's the chip? That's incredible that he has access to that thing, and man does it put up good numbers! Thanks for the info, Team Starfire World BOINC |

Whoa! How can you tell? I can't see where you figured that out. Yes Clark is just starting to get warm. There will be better numbers as the chip gets tweaked a tad more. |

Whoa! How can you tell? I can't see where you figured that out. It just says "Intel 2.66 Ghz" so you can't tell which core it is..That is one reason why people have to be careful when claiming "cheats". Sometimes , the cpus are not identified properly. |

(looks like this one has dual 5150 2.66Ghz Woodcrests).I think so, too. It looks the newest Xeon 5150 processor with Woodcrests. |

I'm surprised that this thread is so active. I couldn't read those comments until I posted the last one. they do not keep the Conroes and the Kentfield away from crunching.Yes of cource! Actually I hope more conroes, woodcrests and kentsfield should be crunched:) It'd be great help! BTW I'm just waiting for the Cell processor. It seems hard for PlayStation3 to crunch, but processor itself is badly innovative. |

I think I found one: Wow, it has a float benchmark of 8769.12 and an int of 32912.92 . My old Duron running at stock has a float of 927.73 and an int of 1620.25 with the standard Linux client. But that Duron seems to be crunching about half as many models per cpu-hour as the Kentfield does. Some people are really going to be in for a shock when the Rosetta project starts awarding credit based on actual work done. |

I am guilty the cpu's are mine:) Actually the cd2's that you see are the same one I sent the cpu to a friend to play with so he started crunching it as well. My Kentsfield is a monster I run it at 3.5ghz at 1.45v and all it does is crunch... Its a shame cuz its the fastest thing I have ever messed with. Even makes windows look good..LOL I run all my rigs for VNS ATM (just a friendly competition on our sub-teams) This Kentsfield is an ES CPU but I'll tell you its deff ready for production cuz I have not seen one flaw in it... It loves 64bit more than you could know. I am prolly going to take it down tonight to get some benching on phase change. There is one guy who did about 4.2ghz on LN2 this week and I want to see how mine will do as well. Now all the guys who are wondering how this will compare to the Woodcrest well, IDK but I honestly dont think the 5150 will do as well even with FBDimms. I will put some 2x1gb for better performance and we will see. I am trying to find a good fair benchmark prog to measure realworld performance... If anyone wants more info about these cpu's come over to XS I am one of the Admins there and feel free to contact me.. |

This is a good indicator of the XTREME dedication that our team has for the Rosetta project. These CPU's where purchased for the CASP 7 push. Hats off to you NJKID. |

Hats off to you NJKID.I wish deeply you'll keep crunching with the monster cpus!:) Just now I found a review of Kentsfield on the website of XtremeSystems. That's...um...fantastic. Very fantastic;) |
