So, I will be installing Rosetta on a few desktops at work soon (Yes, I have permission). I want them to run Rosetta only at night, so I setup seperate preferences for Home and Work, with work running only at night. All the pre-existing servers were set to (--) which I assumed meant default, so I didn't give this a thought. I looked at my average today, and it was down but should not have been. I started looking at messages, and found "Time of Day" messages. Apparently, the servers took the "Work" preferences. I just adjusted them to be "Home" that run 24 X 7, but I thought I would mention I am a dork. :-) |

So many comebacks to that one! ...Biting toungue... Yes, just update to project to get the preferences change (for right location) and then be sure to set the BOINC Manager to "run based on preferences". This is in the Activity tab of BOINC Manager. Add this signature to your EMail: Running Microsoft's "System Idle Process" will never help cure cancer, AIDS nor Alzheimer's. But running Rosetta@home just might! https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ |

It a bug that was pointed out a while ago, The -- (defualt) is not there after you have selected a default profile location. Once done you are cut down to only three profiles (work/home & school) rather than the added 4th of default. Bloody annoying isn't it :-) As a side note, if you need to set any of the finer details on any of the computer that are available in the global preferences you can create a local override file (not sure if anyone has made a simple program for that yet). Though for some reason the boinc developers neglegted to put project prefrences override in as well :-( More computers ! I like it :-) Team mauisun.org |
