To those users who like to use the latest alpha Boinc software. You might wanna check you quantity of "running" results. Every one of my puters (all single core, w/o HT) was showing atleast two running wus, while taskmanager showed "system Idle process" at 98%. CPU's were cooling down. I.E they were standing still. This has been reported, but I'd like to save you all the time and lost productivity if I can.

I read your post, Tony, after I had switched my PC at work yesterday over to 5.5.10. Fortunately, the problem does not seem to be effecting my two machines, so thank goodness it is not a universal problem. Whew! :)

But I hope they release 5.5.11 soon!
Regards,
Bob P.

I changed mine over quite some time before the problems arose. Keep an eye out. I.E it appeared to work for most the day, then the next morning "whaam", it all went haywire.

Just for s__t and giggles I got bored and built an optimized sse2 only boinc win client with the head release which is now 5.5.12. The binaries and source can be downloaded at boese.kicks-ass.net:6969 . I also made an optimized boinc 5.4.9 and seti@home enhanced 5.17 combo for OpenBSD which is available at the same link. With the OpenBSD was forced to use gcc (POS compiler, get what you pay for) but I took it as far as it would go.
