At this time this place is quite lightly moderated and we`ve avoided the often heavy handiness and inequality of moderation other places have. I know opinions might differ on this but it`s how I see it.

If this is to continue WE must moderate ourselves and think who we may p off with our words.

The peace this weekend has been hard fought for and I admire more now the people who sued for it. They are higher in my esteem than if they kept up the battle.

So please let`s not go backward for the sake of the thousands looking in who are fed up to the hind teeth of it all.
Not all Czech`s bounce but I`d like to try with Barbar ;-)

Yes, when I returned from a weekend away, I was... well... it wasn't a pretty picture on the boards.... 100s of posts in many new threads all about the same topics, all rehashing stuff, roughly 10,000 views of the various threads combined.

Compare that with the number of QA items and page views of that thread.

In my view, the board's primary purpose is to help everyone in running and understanding the project. We got away from that this weekend.

I hope more of that mindpower, BOINC experience, and ability to communicate can be channeled in to trying to make posts that help other participants that are interested in the project, and trying to get started with Rosetta.

In fact, many of the battle threads could have been avoided if this approach would have been taken in posting responses.

Moderation is an issue but the bigger one is the software that runs the forum.
Bok's offer in the other thread(deteted I beleive)to help Baker Labs with other software where PM's and post editing are available would be a step in the right direction.
