XS_VS: I wanted to just point out that moderators are not hired. If you mean "pissed off" and "hell" , that in no way deserves deletion. "Pissed off" is common American English usage for being made angry, even for school children. It's well within the PG mandate. "Hell" is ... well, hell - used by preachers the world over for centuries. Nemesis n. A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. |

If you mean "pissed off" and "hell" , that in no way deserves deletion. I REALLY don't care - it's out there for the mods to read, and anyone else. I don't believe this stuff should be dicussed in secret, by email. If the mods feel they must delete something, then they should be able to discuss the reasons and context in public. We don't need to be spelling words out like we're parents not wanting the toddlers to hear it spoken. Get real - "F-word" "C-word" ? Nemesis n. I edited quite a few messages in this thread to remove terms like "cheat" and "zero RACer" and a number of other terms that were also being used to belittle others - or could be seen by the other side as being used to belittle them. Why are you quoting a moderation policy from another project? Nemesis n. A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. |

Nemesis: Of the 3 online PG rated games I've played that are based in the USA, the phrase "pissed off" and the word "hell" were accepted; depending on how "hell" was used. There's definately better words and phrases to use that express the concept you wish to convey that are less likely to offend. Whl: And here I was worried that you were starting to suffer from Alzheimers. <grin> Be careful with those C words.. non musical versions of Capriccio don't always work. <grin> Nemesis: I thought I had the Rosetta rules for posting up. Rosetta and Rosetta ALPHa (Ralph) use the same rules. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Tymbrimi ROSETTA@home FAQ Moderator Contact |

XS_VS: I don't see a post of mine here with the timeframe you mention, so I am confused... My apologies, that was the date of the post you had responded to, I grabbed the wrong date. I was referring to Message 27039. We're all adults here(hopefully) No, we're NOT all adults here. Rosetta is a great science project for school age children as well. This is the reason for the PG rating we've discussed before. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |

Some interesting reading from the BOINC source distribution, on moderation. This is BOINC's boilerplate instructions for moderators There are a number of recommendations on moderator behavior in there that are NOT being followed here. Don't let your personal opinions Except for posts containing obscene language or pictures, I guess project-to-project parity only applies to stats.... Nemesis n. Don't let your personal opinions I'm interested. Show me evidence of these. One example of each. Not 1 example from everyone; nor 3 examples from everyone. A total of 3 examples. Give me the message number & thread number of a message that I edited simply because of my personal opinions. Give me the message number & thread number of a message that I deleted simply because I disagreed with the post. Give me the message number & thread number of a message that I deleted simply because I dislike its author. Just post the message number - and not the text which caused the message to get deleted/edited. I've edited 10 or 11 messages in the Another New Credit System thread to remove terms that belittle, insult, disparage, etc, others, or that others will take as belittling, insulting, disparaging, etc. 4 times "my" two threads got out of control because I didn't remove the inflamatory messages before war broke out. Eventually, people stopped using the insulting/belittling/disparaging terms, and I didn't have to edit them anymore. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Tymbrimi ROSETTA@home FAQ Moderator Contact |

Don't let your personal opinions Okies: Start with Moderator DE's attack on those who do not agree with him as being Irrational;. Why didn't you moderate out what was a personal attack, slanderous ( calling a person crazy) and flamer material of the first kind? DE is a moderator and was given a free pass by all of you moderators. As to your request: the moderating activity that resulted in hiding and or removing threads will make getting your evidence harder if not impossible: the tracks have been covered. |

It has been argued that moderation of this board to PG levels is required because minors participate in them. So I ask is this board rhen complying with the US Goverment requisites of asking and recording birthdates of participants in interney boards where minnors can be present. |

Don't let your personal opinions Mod.DE threatened to remove or actually did remove posts by Whl. and Jose, simply because he did not like the tone of the post, thinking it was too negative. That should fit at least two of the criteria. All of the present mods seem to be deleting posts based on their OPINION that certain words are not to be spoken. I don't see any groundswell of approval of that from the user base. I notice you didn't address the second part I quoted from Instructions for Moderators - about not deleting unless someone complains, or only because someone complains. Nemesis n. I asked for the 3 message numbers of examples of me, Mod.Tymbrimi (the "I" in my previous message in this thread) performing these three activities. Where are the message numbers of the examples of me performing the activities you seem to be accusing me of? Why didn't you moderate out what was a personal attack, slanderous (calling a person crazy) and flamer material of the first kind? A. Crazy people may be irrational. Irrational people, however, are not neccessarily crazy. We can thus rule out being called crazy. Those that are in love have been said to act in illogical ways. That's also irrational. (def#3) "You don't make sense to me" is not what I'd consider "flamer material of the first kind." Anyway, I'll save the rest of the explanation until you present at least one of the requested 3 message numbers. Nemesis: I'll save that comment until you present at least one of the requested 3 message numbers. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Tymbrimi ROSETTA@home FAQ Moderator Contact |

Mod.Tymbrimi: I have a very simple question to ask you. Before you became a moderator here, were you a poster on this forum? |

I asked for the 3 message numbers of examples of me, Mod.Tymbrimi (the "I" in my previous message in this thread) performing these three activities. So you are protecting Moderator DE. Poor Mod SSENSE: Now there are two cases of moderators that are allowing his participant bias to show. |
