I recently discovered my Cross Project ID is wrong or different from the other Projects I run. Being so the Stats sites don't include Rosetta for me in the World Rankings with the other Projects I run, but have it listed under my name as a separate listing with a Ranking of it's own.

Is there any way I can get the Cross Project ID I have here changed to what it is at my other Projects ... ???

Verify that your email address is the same at all projects. It should be in all lowercase letters.

Make sure there is a path that includes all projects. ie. host 1 attached to project A and B, host 2 attached to project B and C.

Other than that just wait and hope it syncs up.

My e-mail address is the same at all the Projects, I just checked all my accounts to verify that & did it even before I posted my first message just so I would know it wasn't that.

I'm using a different user name here but some of the other Projects I Processed for have my normal User name & e-mail address & they have different Cross ID's too.

It's like half my Projects have one ID Number & the other half another Cross ID Number. They should have synced up a long time ago I figure if they were going to.

Another weird thing is my Rosetta Account shows the Cross Project ID but I looked in the client_state.xml file in the BOINC Directory & thats shows a completly different Cross Project ID for Rosetta ... :/

Are all of your hosts running about the same version of BOINC? There is a difference at 4.19/4.20 that might cause some difficulty.

Is there a route from project server to host to project server that covers all projects? The simplest way for this to happen is to have one computer attached to all projects.

Have you tried manually updating the projects?

All my hosts are running the BOINC v5.2.1 and all my Hosts are Attached to all of the Projects.

I've spent the better part of the day trying to get it straightened out without much success, what I have right now is the best I could come up with. All the Projects show the same Cross ID Number except for the Zstaki Project & I think thats because it's telling me I need a v4 Client instead of a v5 Client.

But I don't really think they will keep the Cross ID's they have right now for very long. From what I observed during the day the Cross Project ID's at each Project change depending on which Host contacts the Project Server. It will be 1 Number 1 hour and a different Number the next hour, always the same 2 Numbers are used but the Projects just won't settle in on one Number for some reason.

All my host were Attached to the different Projects using the same e-mail I was sent when I created the Accounts & using the same e-mail address, I do use a different User name once in awhile like here at Rosetta.

Here is a wild guess, is there a possiblity that you have 2 accounts at one project or a host that is crunching for someone else's account at a project that other hosts are crunching for you? I can see a chance that this would generate 2 CPIDs that are honored based on which contacted last.

If I do have 2 Accounts @ 1 Project I don't know about it, but it's a possibility I guess. As far as another host thats not mine crunching for me I don't know, but the only Project I've ever heard or seen that happen at is CPDN. I checked my Account there and didn't see anything unusual with my Credits. In fact I haven't crunched there in awhile and my Credits haven't risen so I don't think thats whats happening.

The best solution I've been able to come up with is all the Projects that I'm not crunching for right now I managed to get the Cross ID # the same & then I Suspended them again.

For the Projects I am running I discovered which Computer will change the Cross ID # to the same as the Projects that are Suspended so I can Manually Sync them when I want to then Disable Network Access and just leave them all the same. This will hopefully allow the Stats Sites time to pick up all my Projects as 1 Account & give me a True World Ranking which should be in the 160-165 Range right now ... :P

I don't know yet because BOINC Synergy has been down all day and part of last night also, so I'll have to what until they get back up to verify all Projects are reading as 1 Cross ID for me ...

Getting the CPID synched at a project requires a completely successful connection to the project (in some older versions of the server, this includes sending work if work is requested). So the error that SZTAKI is reporting is very likely to cause the project not to synch.

Once all of your machines have the same CPID, and all of the projects have the same CPID, it is not going to move.

Well I just give up on it John, not that it means all that much anyway. I do have all the Projects Synced to 1 Cross ID # now in my Stats Signature from BOINC Synergy, but the only problem now is I'm Ranked 5951 when I should be Ranked around 160-165 according to my Total BOINC Credits.

Who the User is Ranked @ 5951 I have no idea, but it's sure as heck not me ... About the only thing I can try to do now is try and get all the Projects Synced to the other Cross ID # that my some of my Computers try to use.

If I'm not mistaken it's the Cross ID # that I originally started out with when I first began running BOINC until unknown to me some where along the line this other Cross ID # begain to show up. I never paid much attention to the Cross ID I was given at each project I Attached to because I knew they were supposed to Sync in due time, or at least thats what supposed to happen anyway.
