My old account was deleted. I rejoined. When I try to attach to the Rosetta project, it states it failed to connect, but it does connect and downloads work. Have not completed a unit, so I do not know if it will upload correctly. Anyone think of a way besides creating a different account to fix this? |

Looks like both of your machines are up and running. If they download WUs then they should be able to upload without error. And I don't believe accounts are deleted. Perhaps you mean your account was under an old EMail address that you no longer use? Not clear what you are trying to fix. Perhaps you could paste in some of the messages you are seeing and questioning. Add this signature to your EMail: Running Microsoft's "System Idle Process" will never help cure cancer, AIDS nor Alzheimer's. But running Rosetta@home just might! https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ |

Due to reasons I would rather not discuss, when I left, I changed my account e-mail address. If you did a search for either address, the old one or the one I changed it to, they were no longer present in the project. When I rejoined, I used the original e-mail address. When BOINC tried to attach to the project, after I put in New User and the e-mail address, BOINC put up a notice that said "Failed to connect to Project, please see Messages for more information". When I looked at the messages, everything was downloaded, and there were no errors. The next system I went to, I chose Connect to Project, and existing user. I filled in the e-mail address, and received the same error. The BOINC client takes about 5 times as long as it usually did to connect the first time, throws the error, but then works without logging any errors. I have a few more servers to put this one, and I wanted to resolve the issue before adding more since the first one did not seem to be a fluke. |

I figured out the original account is: id=88469 Can this be deleted or the two accounts merged? |

All accounts are keyed to the users Email addy. You may change the addy all you like and it's still the same account. If you attach with the email addy you changed it to, then you should have your old account back. Admin are the only ones who can delete/alter accounts, so you'd need for one of them to assist you in this matter. |

might be easier just to abandon it. LOL Glad your issue is resolved to your satisfaction. |

Well, just stop using the new one, and it won't be a problem. Or, maybe you wanted to use that EMail address? So change the EMail of the new account to something else, then change the EMail of the old account to your current EMail address. ...back to why you got connect errors, I wonder if you have BOINC Manager set to only use the network during scheduled times? This is set on the activity pulldown menu in the BOINC Manager. When you want to schedule specific times of day to use the network, you can set it to "network activity based on preferences" (these are "General" preferences in your profile). If that is the case, you'll want to set it to "network activity always available" before attaching to projects.
