I didnt find this so I have to ask. I want to run climateprediction on one core 100% and use the other core 50/50 between Seti and rosetta. Now I have two WU's running simulteiniously but will it change due to resource share in BOINC manager? In gen pref I can only decide to use 1 or 2 cores but not how to decide if I want one core to work 100% on one project or 50/50 between two. Pls help Thank you |

If you stop thinking in terms of cores, and start thinking in terms of CPU seconds, you will be thinking more along the way that BOINC works. You define resource shares for each project (and so the value is configured in the preferences for each project). You won't get all three projects running at the same time. It is not as efficient as cycling through them anyway. Since you have 2 cores, you will have two running all the time (assuming you've allowed BOINC to use both cores). All you can do is define resource shares which average out to 50%, 25%, 25%. BOINC will switch between the projects that have the 25%s and almost all the time, the 50% project will be running. There may be an hour every once and a while where it is not, but it will average out. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |
