Dot Art? Hmmm, think I met her while attending university...

I work with a girl whose name is Dorothy Margaret ?. I have started calling her "Dot Peggy", she does NOT like it. I like to tease her, she is sooo committed to several points of view, we like to tease each other. Politics is out favorite topic.

is she available for modeling an ascii picture of her?

Oh she would NOT like knowing we are talking about her, let alone a picture of her.

I thought he would goto the mess and take them all out to dinner to see whos playing footsie. But maybe that is after he dines with Admiral Hoser from JAG.
The marine corp does need to be nice to the Navy line pullers now and then.

WOW that's going to be ALOT of heat coming out of that thing! You won't need any whale oil, you will need some a/c!!!! Sounds like good parts though, well done! Are you going to try Windows7 on it?

And I guess you get YOUR fuel from the good 'ol US of A? NOT!!! Living where you do, Belgium I think, you import everything, right?! I do not know but there can't be many natural resources in Belgium, as least as far as heating oil goes. Coal maybe, but oil, 'fuhgetaboutit'!

Now don't get me wrong, the US has PLENTY of its own problems, but coal and oil do not seem to be major ones. Getting to the oil, now THAT has become a problem! We are importing MUCH more than we are exporting. Although the Alasks oil fields are doing a BUNCH of exporting of oil! Why you ask does the US export oil and then turn around and import oil? Because they can get more for the export than they pay on the import! It is all about the M-O-N-E-Y!!!

fine now for winter, existing crunchers already help heat apartment. really gonna suck in the summer...

surprisingly, got a legal copy of Vista Ultimate just lying around, planning on using that.

was considering linux, but wasn't certain i could get the gpu drivers to run four 9600gt's at once (in parallel) in addition to quad-cor'ing Boinc...

mikey - i am expat living in belgium.
as far as fuel goes, raw oil comes in and gets converted over on refinery island in antwerp, natural gas comes from ships and european suppliers such as norway. but good ol US of A has tapped out much of its supply, so more and more of the oil that is needed comes from elsewhere. besides pengy needed a generator to power his beast and he thought whale oil would do a good job, being that he is a penguin at heart. besides a little whale oil mixed with diesel fuel gets you a different form of bio diesel. that generator will also give him some extra juice to power that monster airco unit he needs or the swamp cooler he will be installing for the summer.

The quad-coring will just happen in Linux, I have 2 quads currently running Linux, an AMD and an Intel that is really a dual core with HT on each core. It is supposed to, and does, make the OS think it is a quad core. That happened all by itself! As for the drivers to make 4 gpu's work, I have no idea!! I do have some add-on video cards in my Linux machines and they just work, but it is a single card in each. Now don't get me wrong here...I am NOT a Linux kinda guy, I use it because it works for me in my situations.

The new Windows7 is where I am going though, it is nice and looks like Vista but better. It installs off the dvd in about 1/2 hour total. No extra drivers needed, my quad core AMD just works. Even the old Epson printer drivers were built into the system!! I have had some issues with networking, but I have not given up yet. It works on the internet etc, but my other pc's can't see it. It can't see them either, except some of them which it sees just fine. It is a first release Beta and I am hoping for better things in the future.
