imported fuel, tsk tsk

<duck from PETA activists> works off of whale oil </duck from PETA activist>

And I guess you get YOUR fuel from the good 'ol US of A? NOT!!! Living where you do, Belgium I think, you import everything, right?! I do not know but there can't be many natural resources in Belgium, as least as far as heating oil goes. Coal maybe, but oil, 'fuhgetaboutit'!

Now don't get me wrong, the US has PLENTY of its own problems, but coal and oil do not seem to be major ones. Getting to the oil, now THAT has become a problem! We are importing MUCH more than we are exporting. Although the Alasks oil fields are doing a BUNCH of exporting of oil! Why you ask does the US export oil and then turn around and import oil? Because they can get more for the export than they pay on the import! It is all about the M-O-N-E-Y!!!

mikey - i am expat living in belgium.
as far as fuel goes, raw oil comes in and gets converted over on refinery island in antwerp, natural gas comes from ships and european suppliers such as norway. but good ol US of A has tapped out much of its supply, so more and more of the oil that is needed comes from elsewhere.

I knew that and was just giving you a hard time.

besides pengy needed a generator to power his beast and he thought whale oil would do a good job, being that he is a penguin at heart. besides a little whale oil mixed with diesel fuel gets you a different form of bio diesel. that generator will also give him some extra juice to power that monster airco unit he needs or the swamp cooler he will be installing for the summer.

Yes I think he will need to do something to make it cooler or turn that thing off come summer!

by stock in a dry ice company or the local industrial gas company. liquid nitrogen should do the trick. looks like the price is $50 for 25L or 14 pounds worth of this stuff. not to bad for super cooling.

I used to deliver dry ice, I wonder if they would give me a discount? I have seen boards running while totally submersed in oil, for instance, and in vats of liquid nitrogen. Years ago I heard of an XT computer, normally running at 4.77mhz, oc'd to 100mhz! Of course it was inside a vat of liquid nitrogen and only doing one task, but still! I have seen boards running inside a refrigerator too. Got to be careful of condensation though!

so why not get a containter of liquid nitro and put your quad in it and see how fast you can turn it up. of course rosie won't like the oc. but maybe one of the other projects will.

last on to post wins died to lack of interest..so if you want to chat..you can do it here.

Hey, Greg; I like your avatar - my favorite Demo Team (being former USN myself). In reality, those planes are about 50-60 ft apart, horizontally.

Running lhc@h, S@h & this on a very slow machine - "only" 400 MHz, with 512 MB RAM, so it's going to most likely take me a very long time to complete some tasks; I hope they take that into consideration when sending me WU's.

Only the finest fly boys come to Seattle for Seafair. They also bring the Harrier and the Chinook for demo on the lake. I have left Seattle about 7 years ago and I miss being rattled by those planes during practice. I figured their distance was quite far apart for such moves. Still at the speed they are going, 50ft isn't much. Just a few wing tip distances.

Once you have your space heater machine up and running, the boinc manager will find out how fast you crunch and adjust the amount of work you get. It will also manage what kind of files you get that fit your processor and memory usage.
So don't worry, just let it run. Any machine is accepted.

When you get a chance, look at the pics on my post, "Any SCA-dians Out There?"; that's what I did for my vacation the week of Feb. 9-16th.

No they are all observing Earth Hour. I think they fell asleep and haven't turned anything back on yet. Me, I fell asleep and forgot to turn anything off!

Dominoes wants to talk to you, their number is 1-800-getpizza! Seems I ordered a few dozen for work and gave them your name. THANKS!!!!

No I wouldn't do that to you, the Foster Kids Program at work had a pizza party and I happened to be walking by afterwards and had a free snack. I work on the donated computers wiping out the harddrives and putting Ubuntu on them so the kids will have something to call their own. Last week someone donated a Dell 2.8ghz HT machine!!! I asked the lady in charge and that is now MY machine and she will get two of my older ones!! She wants quantity not quality!! We take anything, but only give the kids 1ghz or faster machines. The slower ones we strip for parts. We have given out almost 2 dozen in the last 18 months or so. We are a big County so unfortunately we have lots of kids!!!
