tell me about it! you don't even want to go there. nasty landlord/tenant situation. moving out in about a month, but i-net has been shut down on me. i've failed in all previous attempt to crunch on desktops and use a laptop taken to a public wi-fi area to report results. i know in theory it can be done, but never worked for me. will try to keep at least a little Rosie going, but no guarantees. but i haven't left (at least not willingly), and I should be back to full steam in mid-October. Shame, just as I installed those two gpu's... |

went to the Boinc east coast meeting at u delaware. met david anderson (boinc, seti@home), michela traufer (docking@home), mark sommers (leiden classic), michael cummings (lattice project), eric meyers (einstein@home), and jack schultz (hydrogen@home). some of it i was able to get, and some of it was over my head. there may be a wii-mote in Boinc's future, lol !!! but a good chance to meet some of the "movers and shakers" in Boinc-land. all in all, a very positive day. i guess this was a "warm-up" for the upcoming meeting in grenoble, france. hope they do it again next year! |

already have an nVidia 9600gt and ati 4850 crunching for F@H. just picked up a new "super super clocked" 9600gt. i think da is correct, with all these crazy gpu's being purchased by cruncher's, exa-scale distributed computing is possible in 3-5 years... hopefully the science of many dc projects is adaptable to all the power that gpu's are providing. those that can adapt will be big-time winners. now, about those msi diamond p6n mobo's with 4 pci-e x16 slots... four gpu's on one mobo, <drool> now this is a gpu folding farm !!! |
