lets say you are about 90% done with a work unit and the report deadline is about to be reached. does BOINC automatically abort and upload the partially completed WU? it seems like it would be a shame to lose that much work. |

BOINC attempts to avoid that situation by scheduling the task to run at "high priority" when the deadline approaches. This helps improve the odds that it will complete in time. Rosetta extended the deadline to 10 days (used to be 7 days). For most BOINC projects, a partially completed task is not useful. No, it will not automatically abort it. Last I knew, it will continue to work on it past the deadline and report it back when it completes. You often will receive no credit for tasks returned after the deadline. If you have other tasks behind it that are past their deadlines, but have not begun computing yet, I'd definitely abort them. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |
