I am new to the boinc world and would like to use my computer free time to run two projects. Is this possible ??. and if so would I need to use an account manager such as gridrepublic or bam as listed on the boinc main page ??.

You could use an account manager, but it certainly is not necessary. Once you install the BOINC client, just by clicking the "Add project" button in the simple view, or "attach to project" under the tools pulldown menu in the advanced view.

Attach to one, then attach to the other and by default your computer time will be split equally between the two.
