FYI: Running Instruments shows several leaks while BOINC is running. This is Mac OS X 10.6.7. Might be the libraries being used and Activity Monitor shows memory continues to be used without being released ( no other apps running except system processes ) Leaked Object # Address Size Responsible Library Responsible Frame Malloc 48 Bytes 0x3237420 48 libstdc++.6.dylib operator new(unsigned long) Malloc 16 Bytes 0x3235880 16 libstdc++.6.dylib operator new(unsigned long) Malloc 16 Bytes 0x3235870 16 libstdc++.6.dylib operator new(unsigned long) Malloc 32 Bytes 0x3235810 32 libstdc++.6.dylib operator new(unsigned long) SystemMenu 0x320b740 16 SystemMenu SetUpSystemMenu Brian |

Is this the complete list of suspected leaks? 128 bytes? Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |

Is this the complete list of suspected leaks? 128 bytes? Instruments was only run for approximately 15 seconds, so there might be more. I didn't fully exercise all BOINC features to see if more are lurking. This is just an FYI for the developers since it is trivial for them to run this test themselves. 128 bytes of unreleased bytes is typically not critical but often I've found related bugs in my own code that ripple elsewhere that otherwise exhibit no obvious symptoms. |
