Wouldn't the reciept (apart from needing to be from a Chirity status (UK) or whatever it is in whichever country is trying to obtain it) only be applicable to the extra power used by the specific project and not the general computer power usage. That's quite minimal for older computers, but newer computers where things and parts of it would nrmally power down, it would be considerably more. How do you determine what is used for Rosetta ? Also if that happens, then there will be a lot of computers suddenly running for 'free' not just organisations taking up that benefit, if you don't split the power usage up. The comapanies also have to consider the noise implications due to fans running (where newer systems would slow them down as needed etc..) the extra heating it causes (may not be a problem in Canada ;)). That and the fact of how would Rosetta/Boinc be liable if it causes system breaches, hardware problems ... Altough it is a nice idea :D :D Team mauisun.org |
