Rosetta 3.43 is causing multiple pop-ups on my screen when running. If I close the pop-ups, others appear. The pop-ups do not happen with 3.41. This pop-up phenomenon has just started to occur, and has happened to me on two different desktops (both Windows 7,BOINC 7.0.28 x64). I had to abort the workunits, then the popups stopped. Rick |

I am getting a pop up on my system also. It is the graphical overview also available as screen saver. Time elapsed is running, but cpu usage is zero. |

what do the pop-ups say? They have a black background, with gray lines and letters. The screens make reference to Rostetta, and seem to be showing program tables. Please let us know when it is fixed. I'm not allowing new tasks until I hear from you. Rick |

That actually sounds like the screensaver. Would it be asking too much for a screenshot. You can email it to dekim at u. washington .edu Does it look like the images on: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/rah_graphics.php ?? |

You can email it to dekim at u. washington .edu I downloaded another WU, with same pop-up results, just realized I don't know how to do screen shots:( I think it's the same screen you get when you highlight a Rosetta WU and click on show graphics. I am getting the same. Whenever a task is running it shows a separate window for the task rather than running it in the background with some of the detail which would normally be in the screensaver A screenshot is at http://imgur.com/nio8K |

In my case it is the screen saver, but only the bottom part of the screen is filled. I can not send you a screenshot, since I do not have an active wu. |

I would also say the task appears not to be actually running...23 mins in and still at 0.0% complete according to BOINC. Definitely happening on 2 separate machines, both running Win7 64bit. Closing the window doesn't do alot as it just reopens again, but the task doesn't get cancelled/failed from doing that. |

I have suspended Rosetta; it's not working at all due to the screensaver popups. |

I concur. Both my PCs (both AMDs both Win7-64) worked fine with 3.41. 3.43 is popping up the screen saver graphics in a window when the WU starts to run. You can't close it as it will just reopen again. (I have no screensaver set to run so it's directly opening the graphic in the 3.43 exe.) One for every 3.43 WU. It takes a few seconds to fill the info in and if you try to close it too early Windows 7 will ask you if you want to kill the EXE as it is not responding. Eventually the WU gives a computation error and dies. Someone needs to look at this as something is seriously wrong with 3.43. I had to set Rosetta to "No New Tasks" to stop this from killing other projects from running properly. |

It also seems to rob a CPU on multi-core hosts making it unavailable for use by other BOINC projects -- it just sits there idle. When I suspend Rosetta, the previously idle core picks up a WU from another project. I have seen this on two hosts that have 3.43 tasks. One is a hex-core AMD, the other a quad-core Intel; both are Win7-64. |

Same problem here, getting a popup window that looks like the Rosetta screensaver, but no graphics showing. Started when I started to crunch a 3.43 workunit. If I close it, it just opens up again. Closing the window also seems to reset the timer back to 0 on time elapsed for the workunit. |

Same issue here. Screen saver window pops open, but it's just a template of sorts. The graphics never actually populate their fields and the workunit doesn't do any work or use any CPU time. I have 4 Rosetta 3.43 tasks "running" right now and my CPU usage sits at 0.5% over 10 minutes since the pop ups sprang up. |

Same issue. I have one popup of the screensaver with no visuals inside it for each CPU thread. All 8 units are "Running" but each thread is idled. Doesn't look like it's doing anything. Suspending in the meantime. |

+1 I'm running 3.43 wus and 7.0 wrapper. The previous wus that finished had problems uploading and reporting, but was finally able to force it to communicate with your servers. If you suspend the project, then you can close all the popup windows, but that means that your machine isn't doing any Rosetta. If you resume the project, the windows come back and the crunching begins all over again in elapsed time, but nothing is actually happening. I can't get my screenshot to show here; I'm trying to use the new Google Drive with the jpg file having public access, but the link isn't working here. Therefore, here's the list of files that are showing in one of the computer's slots for the weird wu: default.out.gz flags_rb_11_13_34809_65508__round2_t000__1_C1_robetta graphics_app Helvetica.txf init-data.xml input_rb_11_13_34809_65508__round2_t000__1_C1_robetta.zip minirosetta_3.43_windows_x86_64.exe minirosetta_database.zip sgtderrgfx.txt Are these normal? |

That actually sounds like the screensaver. Would it be asking too much for a screenshot. You can email it to dekim at u. washington .edu It is the screensaver graphic and it also proves that you have not tested before releasing because you can't miss this. |
