Why you don't made a "Certificate of Computation" like the Seti@home project?

Well, Rosetta is still sort of new to the DC world, and so it hasn't gotten around to the certificates yet. We only got the screensaver a couple weeks ago (before it was just running in the background, with nothing to "see"). But, I think that it's a good thing that could be developed.

The first thing that I'd decide is on the "levels". When do we get the first certificate? 1000 credits? 500?

I'm sure that if you presented the idea to Dr. Baker, or made lots of noise about it in the number crunching area, it would happen. Rosetta seems to be really good like that, and since this REALLY doesn't change the way their project is run, it should go over really well.

First of all, I think the project is very interesting.
The computation certificate it's a small gift for all the people that contribute to the project.

It would be nice to do some "milestones" like other project do.
500 credits, 1000, 5000 and so on...

One thing you might not have noticed is that SETI/BOINC doesn't have milestones like Classic did. There are certificates available, but they always print out your current credits to date. So Rosetta having milestones would actually be a first for the BOINC system.

In Classic, the reason for the milestones was because people wanted to be recognized for their achievements, but in the BOINC system, every post is accompanied by your RAC and credit, and so milestones aren't needed in the same way.

The other problem I can see with milestones is that in BOINC, you very very very very very rarely land on one... what are the chances of ever having exactly 1000 credits? Slim to none, so the certificate (if you wanted to go the milestone method) would have to be something like "Stevo passed 1000 credits on such and such a date". Not necessarily a problem, just something to consider.

Something that I think would be cool is an "annual achievement" certificate. These would say how many credits you got in the past year, as well as your total credits, and each year would start on your sign up date.

under under "Computing and credit" against "Certificate"
you can obtain a certificate for either
1. your Account
2. your team's account or
3. cross project (showing all projects in which you are operational)
