I'm just under 30k at the moment, not to bad for a amd-64 2800+ cpu crunching full time for less than a year |

Well, I only have 1 computer and it only runs Rosetta in the evenings and weekends, but I just passed 10,000 credits. Not too shabby, only been a member since July. --hedera Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that amateurs built the ark. Professionals built the Titanic. |

Hedera: I was just looking at your computers, which I almost never do by the way, and I was surprised that you have a 3.2 Ghz P4. If you are using it during the day, you should have no problems at all even if you run video and other power-hogging apps. Really! Straining a P4 is nearly imposible. I would recommend running your P4 24/7 like myself and others if possible. Just don't use your hyperthreading if you are worried about the heat output. Set your preferences to 1 CPU and watch the crunching add up pronto!! (Click for detailed stats) |

Gerry, the actual reason my system is offline during the day (when I'm at work) and at night (when I'm asleep) is because I'm a paranoid: if you aren't on line, the botnets can't find you. I don't THINK they can find me behind a LinkSys router anyway, but if I'm off the net, I KNOW they can't find me, and they're generally less likely to go after a system that isn't always on. Also, I'm thrifty: I belong to the generation that turned out the lights when leaving the room ;-) The only effect I've noticed when running 2 threads of Rosetta is that when I'm editing photographs in Adobe Photoshop Elements, there's a delay of 1-2 seconds while the pixels arrange themselves. Otherwise you're quite right: no impact, except that I get a nice warm feeling that someone is using all that horsepower. --hedera Never be afraid to try something new. 200,000 for all projects. Only 130+K for Rosetta though, but next goal would definatly be 200,000. :) There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

It would be nice to pass 500K for rosetta. I am always trying to tweek that extra mhz to get there! But 365K is not too bad! |

I feel rather good about passing 600K for Rosetta, and in the process getting into the teens of UK crunchers as well as passing the 200 mark in world-wide users... -- Mats |
