In Boinc Manager under options/general there is a slider to alter Reminder Frequency.....what the heck is that please. Have not been able to find it anywhere.

TIA

Good evening, Scribe.

Apologies if you've already spotted this, but when you move the mouse cursor over the slider a pop-up appears which says "How often, in minutes, should the manager remind you of possible connection events".

There is further detail in the "Help" - hit "F1" and scroll down to "options" which includes the following;

"..... how often you wish to be reminded of the need to connect to the project servers (for dial-up users)".

I second the question - it's new with V5.x? and there's no explanation that I've seen, anywhere... When a search in the Wiki turns up "no hits", _I_ am lost!

Hm - Martin typed just as I was typing. I tried again to get "help" to work, and this time it actually did. I note that the information on the "Options" menu is extremely limited and vague. I should probably run my iBook on dial-up some time just so I could learn all of those annoyances. Sigh.

Now THAT problem I know how to solve - in the Options/Connections tab, instead of "autodetect", set it to "use my LAN". Then the message goes away totally.

Bah. My point wasn't that you haven't been super-human and updated the Wiki to include every single unexpected change that's been put in by the dozen or so people changing the code as you're trying to document it.

The point was that your Wiki is _the_ source for hard-to-locate information, and if _it_ doesn't have something, the chance that very many of us mere mortals will know, other than by accident, is slim.
