Description | Emily Ann Wade (Wilmington, NC) was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor on Saturday, October 1, 2005. A website, http://www.emilysmiracle.com, was soon thereafter established as it was said it would take a miracle to overcome this cancer. Emily Ann Wade, age 5, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006. Emily’s team has been established to help support cancer research in an effort to find a cure for this dreadful disease. Rosetta@home is a project of the University of Washington which uses a distributive computing model from The University of California – Berkeley. The science project uses your computer when you don’t need it to help determine the 3-dimensional shapes of proteins in research that may ultimately lead to finding cures for some major human diseases. Their scientific research efforts focus on designing new proteins to fight diseases such as HIV, Malaria, Cancer, and Alzheimer's. |
